RAFTING ON THE RIONI RIVER. REGION RACHA.

This region of Georgia is famous for its nature and wines, so rafting on the Racha River will not be easy, but we won't forget about the local wines. The river rafting experience can be tailored to a range of difficulty levels, from easy and suitable for all ages, to difficult where children cannot participate and all participants must be able to swim. For those who love to fully immerse themselves in nature, there is the option to stay for a few days in a tent camp. For others, there are cozy hotels and guesthouses located near wineries.

Day 1. Tbilisi - Racha, Ambrolauri

We will meet you at the Tbilisi airport and travel in a Mercedes Vito with a guide to Ambrolauri, the center of the Racha region. On the way, we will stop for lunch at a cozy restaurant. We will spend the night in Ambrolauri.

Day 2. Raft from Alpana to Mekvena

We will start our river rafting adventure with a 3-4 difficulty level. We will travel by private transportation to the cozy village of Alpana, located in the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains. We will raft on the Rioni River from Alpana to Mekvena, with inflatable boats accompanied by an experienced instructor, and for safety, a rescue boat will follow behind. The rafting route will cover a distance of 18 km. After completing the course, we will have a picnic on the riverbank. We will spend the night in a tent camp at the rafting base.

Day 3. Canyoning in the Shareula gorge

We're going canyoning in the Shareula gorge with a guide. The folds of the local mountains create beautiful canyons with transparent rivers and pools, waterfalls and rapids. We'll be given wetsuits (the water is cold there), and we'll have to wear sneakers on our feet. The route is 6 km long and takes 5-6 hours. Lunch will be in a tent camp. In the evening, we'll have a campfire. We'll spend the night at the rafting base.

Day 4. Raft from Utsera to Ambrolauri - Khvanchkara winery

On this day, we will embark on a rafting journey of level 3-4+ difficulty, along the Rioni river on the Ucera-Ambrolauri stretch. The journey will cover a distance of 30-35 km, with the guidance of an experienced instructor and a rescuer. After the rafting journey, we will visit the famous winery of Khvanchkara for wine tasting. We will spend the night in Ambrolauri.

Day 5. Ambrolauri - Tbilisi

In the morning, we will depart from Ambrolauri and return to Tbilisi. On the way, we will visit the Nikortsminda church, a beautiful architectural monument from the 10th century.
