ON THE TRAIL OF FAMOUS PEOPLE

This is a themed tour of places where famous people lived and created works that are now written about in encyclopedias, listened to their music, and read their writings. Tbilisi, being a crossroads and hub of various cultures, attracted creative personalities. Many created their works here, many lived the lives of Tbilisians, and others came for inspiration. There were many reasons why they were drawn here, and there are many stories about these remarkable people too. We will visit places where Dos Passos and Steinbeck, Aivazovsky and Repin, Tchaikovsky and Chaliapin, A. Dumas-father and Knut Hamsun created. There are so many of them, practically the entire cream of the Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, and Armenian creative elite. In Bagdadi, near Kutaisi, we will visit the house where Vladimir Mayakovsky was born and raised (pictured above). Now there is a museum and memorial center in his name. The colorful life of this poet was closely associated with Georgia, and we will tell you about it.

And of course, we will also visit the Stalin Museum, the only one of its kind. Many people know about the museum, but few know where this energetic monument to the leader stands. Stalin's life, despite all the contradictions, is very interesting and informative. It is important to talk about him impartially, with all his victories and cruelties.

The tour "On the trail of famous people" is designed to discover something new about the lives of these individuals (something that is not written in books) who are in one way or another connected to Georgia.
