AUTUMN HARVEST FESTIVAL

The first Tbilisoba festival was held in 1979. It is celebrated in October, on the last or second-to-last Saturday-Sunday of the month. This is not just a festival of the city, but a celebration of the end of the harvest season, when farmers can relax a little and treat city dwellers to the fruits of their labor. For two days, Tbilisi smells of barbecue and young wine, and the streets are filled with singing and dancing. We invite you to join in this festive spirit, which can be combined with a weekend getaway.

Day 1. Mtskheta - Jvari

It will be great if your arrival falls on Friday, so you can fully enjoy the two-day holiday. Arrival. Transfer to the hotel. On this day, we will not go far from the capital. We will visit Mtskheta. Until the 6th century, this was the capital of Georgia. We will climb to the Jvari Monastery, which inspired Lermontov so much. We will see the main and most important cathedral, Svetitskhoveli, and listen to the legends associated with it. For lunch, we will visit the very atmospheric restaurant Salobie, which has been popular among Tbilisians for over 60 years, and of course, we will try their signature dishes - lobio with pickled peppers and Mtskheta pies. Evening walk in Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 2. Tour of city - Tbilisoba

After breakfast, we'll go to see Tbilisi. We'll see the most interesting places - the historic bath district, the nightlife hub of the city, the Sharden district, we'll take a cable car up to the Narikala Fortress, and from there we'll descend to the hidden Fig Ravine, see the ancient churches of Sion and Anchiskhati, the Gabriadze Tower, Freedom Square, and the Bridge of Peace. We need to hurry because this day is the traditional Tbilisoba festival in the city. This is not just a city day, it is a holiday of harvest, wine, songs, and dances. Tables are set throughout the city, wine is poured in the streets, and the air is filled with the smell of barbecue. In the old part of the city, there are concerts, costumed performances, and anyone can try their luck and compete with the local palavans - the reward is a lamb. The festivities last until late at night. After the city tour, we'll let everyone have free time to enjoy the Tbilisoba festival. Have a happy Tbilisoba!
